Nassau Paradise Island is, and has always been, committed to the health and safety of our guests. To make your visit a comfortable, relaxing, and safe one, our partner hotels and resorts are adhering to or exceeding best practices recommended by The Bahamas Ministry of Health, World Health Organization (WHO), US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Our new guidelines include enhanced hotel cleaning and sanitation practices and guest protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19. 

The Bahamas is now open to visitors. Individual hotel and resort opening dates may vary. 

Below, you’ll find the best practices and guidelines that have been implemented for every step of your vacation in Nassau Paradise Island, from the time you arrive in Nassau. 

We will continue to keep this page up-to-date with the latest visitor information so you’ll know exactly what to expect when you travel to The Bahamas. 

Please note that all visitors traveling to The Bahamas must complete and submit a Health Visa application which follows WHO, CDC, and Ministry of Health guidelines. A COVID-19 PCR Swab Test with a negative result, taken within 10 days of travel date, must also be presented upon arrival. Please visit for important information before booking your trip.

Bahamas Travel Requirements

Pack a mask and hand sanitizer.
Familiarize yourself with the latest travel protocols (below).
Get a COVID-19 RT-PCR test to confirm you’re in good health within 10 days of travel date.
Fill out and submit the mandatory electronic Health Visa application (details below).



Before You Depart

Prepare for your vacation in The Bahamas in three easy steps. 

1. Each traveler must get a COVID-19 RT-PCR Swab Test with a negative result within 10 days of arrival in The Bahamas. Tests over 10 days old will not be accepted.

Please note, all children under 10 years old do not need a test.

2. Complete the Health Visa application and submit it online (one per traveler). In addition to current health and recent travel information, you will be asked to upload your negative test results in the Health Visa portal. Once submitted, an automated response will be provided that the application is completed, but the entire Health Visa application process can take up to 72 hours.

This document, along with a valid passport, are the only documents required to board your flight. Travelers who show symptoms of COVID-19 may be transferred to an area away from other passengers for further testing and evaluation. Each visitor must present a Health Visa, COVID-19 PCR Swab Test with negative result, and valid passport upon arrival at Bahamas Immigration. Travelers who do not complete a Health Visa or present a COVID-19 RT-PCR Test with a negative result will be denied entry. 

For travel to Nassau Paradise Island, or if traveling through Nassau to another island, choose and complete the International Health Visa application.

If also planning travel to another island in The Bahamas following a 7-night stay in Nassau, you will also need to complete the Domestic Travel Card application.

3. A 14-day quarantine is required for all travelers upon arrival. Be sure to pack a mask and hand sanitizer when you travel to The Bahamas. Passengers are allowed to bring one 12-ounce bottle of hand sanitizer in their carry-on luggage. Look for a product containing at least 60 percent alcohol.

At the Airport


Airport staff will use temperature screening equipment to measure the temperature of all incoming passengers. Please be mindful of physical distancing measures throughout the airport, including at baggage claim. Please wear a mask upon arrival in the terminal and during the entire arrival process, including immigration, baggage claims, customs, during check in, and boarding. Please hold and scan your own boarding pass or mobile device.

When you arrive at Lynden Pindling International Airport you’ll notice increased frequency of cleaning and disinfecting high-traffic areas throughout the airport, as well as additional hand sanitizing stations. 


Be sure to give yourself extra time at the airport for boarding.

Please note that Bahamas Immigration has discontinued self-service kiosks. Please wear your mask and continue to be mindful of physical distancing throughout the departure process, including at gates and in the food court and retail area.

Getting To Your Hotel

Transportation can be arranged through your hotel in advance. Taxis, vans, and other forms of transportation are also available at the airport.

All transportation providers have undergone training and certification in safety protocols and the disinfecting of vehicles after each fare.

Taxis must reduce the maximum number of passengers by 50%. For example, sedans can carry up to two passengers and SUVs up to four passengers. Passengers should not ride in the front seat, and it’s mandatory that masks are worn by both passengers and drivers. 


Checking In

Staff at hotels and resorts in The Bahamas have received mandatory enhanced training on health and safety guidelines and will be practicing measures such as contactless greetings and wearing masks. You’ll notice hand-sanitizing stations throughout high-traffic areas at your hotel or resort, such as the lobby. 

In some instances where physical distancing guidelines cannot be maintained, you may notice plexiglass barriers or other protective barriers for the safety of both hotel guests and staff. 

Please wear a mask while checking into a hotel.


During Your Stay

Hotels and resorts are practicing more frequent deep cleaning, particularly in high-traffic areas and on high-touch surfaces (handrails, door handles, light switches, push plates, restroom fixtures, lobbies, hallways, etc.) The same is true of high-traffic, staff-only areas: kitchens, staff restrooms, locker rooms, loading docks, cafeterias, and offices. 

When cleaning guest rooms, hotel attendants will wear masks and gloves. You may notice less paper in your room, such as resort magazines, pens, paper, brochures, and maps. Please contact the front desk at your hotel if there is information you require. 

In restaurants, you’ll notice more space between tables to provide adequate physical distancing between groups of guests. Servers, bartenders, and chefs have all completed enhanced training on health and safety guidelines. Please note that buffet-style dining will be discontinued until further notice. Disposable menus will be available, or menu options will be displayed on monitors or chalkboard. Please wear a mask while waiting to be seated.

In other common areas (casinos, pool decks, etc.) layouts have been updated to ensure adequate physical distancing between guests, allowing everyone to enjoy the facilities comfortably and safely. Elevators will be limiting the number of guests allowed in at a time.

Guests must return to accommodations and remain on property between 10:00 pm and 5:00 am daily. Guests can move around the property during curfew hours. 

Guests who show symptoms of COVID-19 during their stay may be transferred to an area away from others for further testing. Evaluation and quarantine may be required by health personnel.

Attractions and Activities

Attractions and retail venues in The Bahamas will establish a maximum number of guests and might limit the duration of each guest visit to allow for physical distancing. Masks must be worn when waiting in line for attractions. 

When possible, guests are encouraged to use their own personal equipment (i.e. snorkel gear). 

Beach gatherings are limited to five people or less. Social distancing is mandatory. Masks must be worn when entering and exiting the beach (not required on the beach). 

Masks must be worn before and after exercise (and visible on your person during exercise). 

Cashless sales are encouraged.

Best Practices for Guests

Maintain physical distancing guidelines where possible. In The Bahamas, we have plenty of open space for everyone to enjoy. Even while outdoors on the beach or around the pool, try to maintain physical distancing of at least six feet (two meters) between yourself and other groups of guests. If physical distancing is not possible, consider wearing a mask to protect yourself and other guests as well as resort staff. 

Wash your hands regularly for at least 20 seconds using warm soapy water. If handwashing isn’t possible, use a hand sanitizer containing at least 60 percent alcohol. Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout common areas at your hotel or resort. Passengers can now bring one 12-ounce bottle of hand sanitizer in their carry-on luggage when flying. 

Sneeze or cough into a tissue or cloth. It’s recommended that guests wear a mask in areas where physical distancing measures cannot be adhered to. Please remember to pack a mask along with any other PPE you require.
